A large influence for our film has to be Black Box TV. This is a YouTube channel that make short thriller films. I knew of Black Box TV before I started media studies and really enjoyed their videos. When I found out that we had to create an opening two minutes for a thriller film I instantly thought about Black Box TV. So I got the group together and we watched some of the episodes, the rest of the group enjoyed the videos too, and from this we all had great ideas for the thriller. James Hodges.
The biggest influence for me was the film paranormal activity, I felt that the way it was all filmed handheld or over CCTV footage (found footage) made it a lot more scary as it feels as if it relates to the audience as its in a real life setting. I found it really effective that everything scary happened at night time and it was predictable as the date/time etc would come up, the audience were then aware something would happen but were left clueless as to what it would be.

Another influence for our thriller is the Last Exorcism, this film centers on a young teenage girl who is possessed by the 'devil' the title speaks for itself as an exorcism takes place in the hope to save her. However, a 'fake' exorcism is done as the man uses it as a money scam. But this time, the 'devil' really is possessing her soul and she kills people that cross her path. This is a good influence to our thriller as our two main antagonists are possessed scary Victorian girls. I've taken our costume idea from the last Exorcism as an inspiration for our own thriller. I've looked at acting techniques used in the film to help us produce the same sort of thing. For example, how the girl tilts her head, walks etc.Claire Bone
The influence I believe was the greatest when it come to filming our thriller was the production company 'Hammer Film Production' who are famous for the horrors a thrillers that they have been producing. The company, founded in 1934 made most horrors from the 1950's-1980's. This production company is probably the biggest influence towards our group as they absolutely dominated the horror film market in their most successful years. This film companies probably targeted the most audience in their revival films which include 'Let Me In' and the new film starring Daniel Radcliffe 'The Woman In Black'. These two films are probably the most influential to us as they both are horrors which target the audience of 15+.Peter Clare
